I am wondering whether anyone (?Paul) could clarify a query I have regarding use of the COCP following GTD.
In the BusySPr notes it states that the COCP can be used before hCG levels return to normal, however in the RCOG, MRCOG and Beyond series 'Early Pregnancy Issues' it states that "oestrogen containing oral contraceptive pills should be avoided whilst hCG levels are elevated.....barrier methods of contraception are advised.....the COCP may be used after hCG levels have returned to normal".
I am just wondering what is the correct management here. If anyone has any feedback regarding this I would be most grateful.
