As I understand that diagnostic radio-iodine scans are contra-indicated in pregnancy but may be undertaken if breast-feeding - stop breast-feeding for 24h. Avoid pregnancy for at least 4 months after radio-iodine treatment.
What advice can I give to a the patient inadvertently exposed to radioactive iodine scan & dicoverd to be pregnant later on … Is TOP indicated??
